Welcome to the NCFCAWiki... the unofficial encyclopedia for all things NCFCA!

The purpose of this site is to preserve the history and heritage of NCFCA debaters, provide a ready resource for league-specific debate theory and information, provide information on clubs for prospective debaters, and be an all-around fun site to connect NCFCAers across the nation and keep them up to date on the league as well as give them a chance to put their club and friends on the map.

Rules and Notes:

- Keep all articles fair, objective, free from insult or speculation, free from gossip, absolutely clean, concise, helpful, and well-written!

- This wiki software contains a file upload system where you can upload pictures and set them into articles. However, there is only 10MB of space available. We are currently experimenting with ways to save space or use space elsewhere, but for now please do not upload any images.

- To add or edit a page, first search for whatever you are editing or adding in the search bar in the upper right hand side of the screen.

- Find the article that already exists on your topic - IT IS ALWAYS BETTER TO EDIT A CURRENTLY EXISTING ARTICLE THAN MAKE A NEW ONE

- If however, there is no article (as will be the case for the most part), click the "NEW ARTICLE" button. You will be asked to enter a name for the article. Try to make it as concise as possible - it's what will be made the address... e.g., if I were to name my article:

"Atlantic Speech and Debate"

it would be hosted at:

http://ncfca.pbwiki.com/Atlantic%20Speech%20and%20Debate

However, just about every club is a speech and debate club, so those details are probably not necessary. So I just named it:

"Atlantic"

as a result, it is hosted at:

http://ncfca.pbwiki.com/Atlantic

Much better, no?

- Every time you reference something that has an article on it or ought to have an article on it, put brackets around it. For instance, as I am typing the Atlantic article, I type:

... founded in 2004 by Travis Jordan...

"Travis Jordan" then appears blue as a link to the article:

http://ncfca.pbwiki.com/Travis%20Jordan

- Even if no such article already exists, but you think it ought to, put the brackets there anyway. That way, when someone clicks it, they will be taken to a page where they can make an article on "Travis Jordan" and that way we can keep expanding.

- One little request... if you make a page about your club, go to the "club" article and add it to the list

- Only make articles on topics that have some specific relevance to the NCFCA. For instance, in the article on "democracy," don't start rambling on about what democracy is and what its origins are etc. You can find that on a general information encyclopedia, like wikipedia. Write about the conflict over whether democracy is a valid value in LD or something like that.
